What Foods to Eat to Improve Studying

If you are a student like me, I’m sure you always try your best to understand, memorize, and receive new information given by your sources. If that is the case, keeping a healthy body in mind should be one of our priorities.

Keep in mind that if we are healthy, there is a high chance for us to become more effective and efficient in performing academic activities. Thus, it would be easier for us to achieve our educational goals in life.

Even though eating a healthy and balanced diet is essential, especially in maintaining a good brain and body to face everyday life and academic tasks, certain studies show that there are specific fruits and veggies that everyone should eat to promote brain health and improve mental performance.

If you are also here to find out the best foods to eat to improve studying and perform well by making excellent decisions, especially when answering examinations, you are in the right place. In this post, I am going to share with you what I eat whenever I am going to take an examination. However, do remember that these are natural food, there are supplements (like natural stack brain food) that can also help in improving mental capacity.

So, if you are interested, just keep on reading.

Berries

So, the first fruit on my list is berries. Did you know that this fruit contains several compounds that are said to be essential in protecting our brain health while promoting academic performance? There are different types of berries I eat, such as blackberries, strawberries, and blueberries. These fruits are rich in anthocyanins, a type of flavonoid compound.

If you don’t know, anthocyanins are compounds, which are important in promoting good mental performance. This is because the anthocyanins in berries can improve the blood flow in our brain. Aside from that, it is also known for protecting us from inflammation while improving our brain’s signaling skills at the same time.

Cocoa Products or Dark Chocolates

Compared to other brain products, cocoa products are the richest food items in terms of flavonoid content. That’s why I recommend you to take at least one cup of chocolate coffee or chocolates before studying or while studying.

Some researchers concluded that taking cocoa products, including chocolate, can promote blood flow, prevent mental fatigue, and improve reaction time and memory on mental-related activities.

Green, Orange, and Red-Colored Vegetables

Consuming enough vegetables per day is often associated with the proper functioning of the brain. Aside from that, it is also linked to improving our overall health and wellbeing.

Green, orange, and red-colored vegetables, such as broccoli, carrots, and peppers, are rich in beneficial compounds, such as carotenoid pigments. These compounds went through a lot of studies and it was concluded that they promoted and improved one’s mental performance.

Our retinas need zeaxanthin and lutein for our eyes to function properly. We can get this compound from eating red and green peppers, broccoli, carrots, lettuce, leeks, peas, basil, spinach, parsley, and kale. Aside from that, you can also get zeaxanthin and lutein from pistachios and eggs. Additionally, please note those vision problems that need medical intervention (such as getting LASIK treatment from a clinic like https://sharpe-vision.com/chicago/) cannot be treated by just eating healthy. So, do take the required medical help in case of loss of vision.

I recommend you to eat at least one or two of these vegetables before your study session. To make your meal more presentable, you can serve your herb salad with spinach together with hard-boiled eggs, sliced carrots, and chopped red peppers.

Fish

Aside from flavonoids, our body also needs to receive enough Omega-3 to ensure a healthy mind and body. Fatty fishes are a great source of selenium, vitamin B12, and other nutrients that promote brain health.

A lot of studies have concluded that eating fish regularly can lead to slower mental decline and improved mental performance. All of these are possible because of the nutrients available in fishes, such as omega-3 fats.

The fruits and veggies I have mentioned above are essential in keeping our mental health and overall wellness. Keep in mind that cocoa products, fishes, and vegetables are just some of the several fruits and vegetables you should take to study and ingest new information effectively.

If you are like me, who always wants to boost my overall health, especially my mental performance, it would be great to join me on this journey. Take note that studying together with a healthy diet can lead to better academic performances.
